The G3 and G3C have a polymer frame serial number like a glock, but also have a serial on the metal insert which is visible through a window on the side of the frame.
Is the polymer grip the actual receiver, like a Glock, or is the metal insert the receiver, like a Sig P320? |

The serial number is on the 'armature'/chassis of the pistol. The grip frame is a replaceable part - G3 and G3C.
