So, hunters are the problem??

Not what he said at all.

Overall demand is the problem.

Millions of new gun owners are now in the market soaking up the excess capacity of the manufacturers.

Only going to get worse.  Your $15/box ammo days are gone for at least 5 years.
"IF" fjb doesn't come after it all, & "IF" manufacturers can get at least in line with demand, we might see prices stabilize a little.

Maybe not $15/box but a shop in the area has been selling 9mm at $18 and .40 for $25ish within the past week (2 box limit).  The ammo is available, the demand is high so it leaves stores quickly.  If you see pistol ammo at $1/round just ignore it, then the prices will come down across the board.

Prices are still rising because people are still snatching it off the shelves. Once we reach the price point where people see the ammo on the shelf yet leave it there due to the price, THEN we will see some inventory. I cant imagine when that will be or what the prices will look like.

I guess we can add hunting season to the multiple other ammo-shortage panics of the past year.    

Then, we also have the future political climate to look forward to. FJB will get around to severe ammo and gun restrictions soon enough. Maybe eliminating on-line sales of ammo and requiring background checks for ammo.
