These just started shipping around July 7, I believe.  I'm usually the last one in the projects to get hold of the latest guns, but this time I was lucky enough to be the first.

The 460XVR sends a 200-grain bullet downrange at 2330 fps.  For comparison, the FN Five-seveN does 28 grains at around 2100 fps.  I know it's apples and oranges, but still:

That's actually the slower SS196 5.7x28 round on the bottom (around 1600 fps).

The 460XVR also shoots .454 Casull and .45 Colt.  I don't have any .45 Colt, since I'm not a cowboy, but here's the .460 compared to .454 Casull and .500 Mag:

I can't imagine that gun lasting for more than 500 rounds or so.  VPC will shit a pickle when they hear about this new round!

this thing is a cannon I got to play with one (was too afraid to shoot it)...  45 caliber round at 2400 fps without a stock HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL no.  If I was to get a cannon it would be for extremely large animal self defense and it would be this:

the ruger next to their 357 for a little size comparison....

200-grain .45 Colt cowboy bullets can travel around 700-800 fps... that's less than 1/10th the muzzle energy of the Hornady .460 Mag 200-grain loads.  Recoil from .45 Colt must be almost negligible -- or at least the spread between minimum and maximum load power is the biggest I know of for any current handgun.
