I've only got one box of 147 gr. to try. Here's my thoughts: Given how negligable the difference between 9, .40, and .45 can be these days with how far ammo technology has come, I couldn't possibly tell a difference between 124 and 147gr. I understand that point of impact vs point of aim can shift if you're coming from a lighter weight, but at 12 ft or whatever, you won't notice that either.
I own a Sig P239. It's a reltaively small gun with a 3.6in barrel. I feel comfortable putting just about any weight of quality HP through it, and I think everyone else should too. Shot placement above all else, but it does feel good to know that your ammo assists.
