This is from a gun collection, part of an estate with which I am helping a friend.  Basically, I am trying to establish a fair market value for each item.  That whole story is in another thread, if you are interested:

Military/historical firearms are not my bailiwick, but there is plenty of information on this particular model in the Blue Book, etc.  This pistol is decribed by the owner's family as:

Beretta, Model 1934, Automatic Pistol, .38 Caliber, Serial # F85XXX

My most current copy of the Blue Book places the value of this pistol at $375 for 100%, $275 for 95%, $225 for 90%, etc.   As you can see from the pictures below, this Beretta is in pretty good condition, shows normal wear, and has an original military/police holster.  I suspect that it would rate on the high end of the percentage scale, but I am no good at assessing those percentages.  I would appreciate any advice on how to evaluate/price this firearm fairly.  I would prefer to avoid the hassle and expense of having these firearms professionally appraised, but I would like to be in the right ballpark when I establish the values.

Right now I am thinking $225 for the whole rig - does that seem fair?

I would think $225 is a fair price. Neither the buyer nor seller is getting gouged & that's all one can ask for. These guns are a SLOW seller at gunshows though. Don't be surprised if it follows you home w/o selling, IMO.

I don't have a lot of experience with these.  Is this one typical of what you see at the gun shows, condition-wise (from what little you can tell from a photo, of course)?  FWIW, the action is very crisp and frame/slide fit is solid.

No, actually this one is much better than what I usually see at gunshows. Quality guns usually sell despite some drawbacks, IMO.
