Will the 92 or M9 barrel and slide work with the 96 40cal., so you can shoot both by changing the uppers, or slide assembly? Thanks

Breach face is bigger on the 96 for the 40 case.

If you want to go back and forth on the frame, then you should just buy a 92 top end kit.

Yes. In fact Beretta made a "Convertible" model with both uppers and a single lower once upon a time, although I cannot recall exactly what they named it.

when I was researching the 96 slide CDNN sells a thread on the beretta forums indicated the 96 with 92 slide and barrel is the prefered way of having both calibers
I think it had to do with the feed ramp on the frame
as long as you change both the slide and barrel it will work

Wow I was just about to post a question like this. Now I gotta find an extra 92 slide. . . hmmmm. I might not sell that 96 after all. Sharky does CDNN sell extra slides?

Also can I use the .40 mags or will I have to buy 9mm mags?
