Hello one and all.

Have a model 92 FS which I enjoy very much.  And the latest CDNN catalog has listed, for $149, a complete upper to convert your 92 into a 40 S&W pistol  ! !  Kit includes slide, barrel, mag, spring, etc . . .

However -- the ad says "Convert your 92F to 40 S&W"  Does NOT say "your 92 FS".

Would this "kit" work with my 92 FS ? ?    If so, are the frames the same for the 9mm and 40 caliber ? ?

Any opnions greatly appreciated  ! !

Thanks  ! ! !

it should work on a regular FS, it worked on my Vertec FS
the 96 slide I got even has night sights
I read on the Beretta Forum that the heavier .40S&W rounds work better. Something about them being a touch longer working better on the shorter feed ramp of the 9mm frame

oh, and 96 I got was a G, the safety is a decoker only

I have a 92G-SD and an older Police Turn-IN 92F, older style.  I was skeptical with the CDNN .40 conversion slide.  I bought the 96G .40 cal conversion from CDNN.  Not only was the slide PRISTINE but it has worked flawlessly for about 300 rds and I am using the older Police Turn in frame.  I would buy with confidence.

Your 92 mags will work as well.  The 10 rd factory mags will accept 9 rds of .40 cal without a hitch.  The only problem is that you cannot TAC-reload with 9 rds in a 10 rd 9mm mag.  You can put 12 rds of .40 in a 15rd 9mm mag and TAC-reload effectively.

my $.02

not great, but I took these a while back and still have them hosted

the 96 slide is on top, stock 92FS Vertec under it

although the pics a re a bit blury, the slide is in great shape. Also, it has night sights which is cool, too bad I cant swap them with the sights on the vertec slide

Thanks, I saw your pics on the photo thead, I was not sure if they were of the CDNN conversion slide.  It does look to be in good condition, what condition was the barrel in, any idea of rounds thru it?

Thanks

rifling seems to still be nice and definitive. doesn't look worn down. maybe not as crisp looking as my 92 barrel, but that only has 100 or so rounds through it

I got the slide in yesterday, and I must say it is in VERY VERY good condition.  Better than my original 92FS slide.  I'd recommened these slides from CDNN to anyone wanting to get more power out of their Beretta 92.http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/5245/beretta92960125wy.jpg
