Anyone have any experience with a Mec-Gar 15 round magazine that is flush fit for the 228?

Can the floor plates be used from a 229 magazine "sport", on a 228 magazine?

Who is selling these? I might be interested in giving one a try. I used 16rd Mecgar hi-cap mags in my Walther P99 with excellent success FWIW.

I read somewhere that you can install a new (10 round) follower in the 13 round mag. That'll make it a 15 round magazine. 9mm of course.
I prefer to use straight factory mags. No worries.

I have a few of the 15 rd mec-gars and they work great. Haven't had a single problem with them, other than that they are difficult to find.

Mecgar OEMs the SiG mags so they are the same thing.

Not to hijack this thread, but since you guys are on the subject.....  I'm looking to trade a preban Glock 19 mag for one of the 228 15rd MecGars.  If anyone has one, feel free to email me or post.  Here's the link....

Thanks.

I was checking on one of my favorite websites that sells gun gear and found they list a 15 round magazine for P226 and P228.  My question is will a P226 magazine fit flush in the P228?

I just purchased 2 ProMag 13 round magazines for my P228.  I have not shot with them yet, but I was surprised when I loaded the first mag it held 15 rounds of 9mm.  I thought I got the wrong mag, I loaded the second and found it too held 15 rounds of 9mm.  They both fit the Sig perfectly and manually feed without a problem. I'll know more tomorrow after I get a chance to shoot with thme.

Well the ProMag magazines worked fine. No problems, no jams or misfeeds.  Both functioned flawlessly loaded with 15 rounds. I chambered one round, dropped the magazine and topped it off. Reinserted the mag and proceeded to fire all 16 rounds.  The magazine was never an issue.  The more I shoot this pistol the more I like it.
