Any guess about how low the price will drop after September.  Also does anyone know what the current LEO price is for the 15 rd 226 and 13 rd 228?  Thanks in advance.

On the other hand, used mags should come down pretty hard. CDNN presently advertises used 226 mags for $9.99 for LEOs. Now, even with the excise tax added in, that's going to be plenty cheap.

Plus, once Mec-Gar gets fired up . . . $25 brand-new shouldn't be hard to find. And Mec-Gar is the present manufacturer of mags for SIG-Sauer . . . I've certainly nothing against them.

MecGar has a no compete agreement with sig.

I hate how expensive the damn mags are, you know its nowhere near that much to make them.

You're kidding?! That's rotten!

Just buy LE trade ins.  They will be cheap enough, and used rarely.  Rebuilding an old mag is cheaper than buying a new one.  And, if you buy "postban" followers from Sig and use them in normal mags, you get a +2 capacity (9mm).

That's a shame - I have a pair of MecGar 17 round Sig 226 mags that work great.

In '91 I paid $28 for P226 9mm factory mags and $32 for 20 round 9mm Sig factory mags. They were never a cheap commodity.

DHS and the USCG are in large part transitioning to the P229 .40 pistol - soon - expect to possibly see a shortage - at least temporarily - of P229 mags on the market

CDNN   $50 for new SIG 226 mag.  $60 for a 228.
I am sure they are an outstanding company but
it sounds like a little too much,
I guess the market forces will take effect after today

Now I don't want to pick a fight with mississippi but . . .

just checked out the CDNN web-site.

Prices:  228 -- Sig "new" @ $29  Factory Demo @$19  "Used" Mec-Gar $10

Prices:  226 -- Sig "new" @ $30  Factory Demo @$19

All mags are "hi-cap"

I placed an order around noon today and was able to order two "new" Mec-Gar 228 mags at $13 each. No longer listed on the web-site -- looks like they sold out.  Ordered a total of eight mags for my M-92 and P-228.

I've ordered "demo" mags from CDNN in the past and was VERY pleased with the mags -- function was perfect and "finish" was around 90-95%.

CDNN will gladly refund/replace anyting you order from them if your not happy with your purchase.

Received an e-mail later today and it said my order will be shipped on Tuesday.  Will post results when they arrive.

I'd say "give them a try  ! ! ! "

Banker Billy,
New sig mags were listed on CDNN site as I mentioned above.  You are correct about the demo mags.  Thank you for the info.  I will try one of the demos.  Question, When CDNN refers to "factory" are they always referring to name brand?  In this case SIGARMS.  I also received an email from SIGARMS advertising 13 and 15 rd mags at $52.  Thank you and everyone else who has responded to my original question.

Hello missisippi . .

From my past experience with CDNN a "factory" mag will be an "original equipment mag" -- one that would come with a new pistol -- not a "ProMag" or something like that.

Ya know -- a "new" factory Sig mag (LE marked) for a P-228 at only $29 is going to be a hard price to beat  ! !  Where they any cheaper before the ban ? ? ?

Ordered from CDNN yesterday (Monday) and should have them by the end of the week.  Will post my results when they arrive.

You are correct.  That is the best price I have ever seen.
Let me know when you receive them.  You have definitely gotten me interested in world of demo mags.  Thanks again

I bought the same demo mags a few months ago for $35.  They are in perfect shape.  I will buy more from CDDN.  I may try some of those 17rnd mags in another posting.

Hey Quinn . . .

If that "other post" is Coles Ditrib he's a good guy  ! !

See him at the local toy show and always fair and honest in his dealings.

He's one of the first people I "look up" at the local shows.

talk of sig vs. mec-gar.   doesnt mec-gar make the magazines for sig in the first place??  its no wonder they have a no compete policy.

They didn't used to (make SIG's mags), back in '93.

By the way, I'm pleased to see that Cope's has Mec-Gar extra-caps for $21.99, new.  This is actually less than I predicted last month. Yay Cope's!
