If you wanted to do that much upgrading, you should have bought a 1911. We all know they need it. Just kidding, glad you like your GLOCK more.

I wanted all that stuff on my 17, but decided instead to return it to stock and buy a 34!!  Longer slide/Barrel, extended slide release, extended mag release, material removed from slide, adjustable target sights, 3.5 trigger, for 600 bucks.  Plus I got two more magazines that work with both guns.

a bear bones G19 (w/ nights) would be a great CCW glock

if you get a more 'racier' glock, then a slightly moded G17/G34 would be better...

SLIDE STOP LEVER!  It is not a release.  It is designed to hold open the slide, not release it

A - Where did he say he used out of spec, non-factory parts?
B- Why are we talking about concealed carry? He's in NJ so unless he's a cop, it's unlikely that he has a carry permit.

He said he wanted something concealable.

From his original post, the parts highlighted in red are non-factory.  Parts highlighted in blue have a factory alternative, but are often aftermarket.

My concealable comment was for him as much as you guys. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Glock makes an ext. take-down lever and I think it's a stretch to lump a Hogue grip into the out of spec, non-factory parts list. Non-factory, yes but come on. You got me on the 2# spring. I didn't catch that.

If they make an extended take down lever, my Glock Armorer's parts list doesn't list it...

From my experience on the Hogue Hand-All, it typically has a problem covering the magazine catch on the right side, making magazines fall more difficultly, hence my inclusion.

And I'm willing to bet that the 3.5# connector is not factory either.  Glock does not sell them in the United States.

But I now understand the intent of your comments.

out of state ccw...Non resident..Whats so hard about that...And so what if there non glock factory parts actually most are..And no offense but the gun to me is a 1000 times better...I was about 2 seconds away from selling it for a beretta 92fs....Changed parts and love it...Whats so hard to grasp..And living in N.j waiting for pistol permits takes months...So if I could have all of them I would ...Its just not that easy...I thought i was boosting something positive on how great you can personalize your glock to your specs......Thats the beauty of it...What works for some dosent work for others but for me...$50 in parts saved a pistol and a swap...And made me even more of a glock lover...

I don't know what disturbs me more, the thought of all that tinkering on a carry piece or the way you overuse the ellipsis.

Practice rigorously with it to make sure that thing isn't going to go tits up on you.

Take the extended mag catch back off unless you want to drop the mag in the middle of a shootout.  It's fine for the range, bad juju for defense.

Just my $0.02.

No, actually most people leave their Glocks as is, with the exception of Night Sights.  Why?  Because adding different pieces MAY cause the loudest noise in the world, a click when you are expecting a bang.  Case in point was an incident I came across on another web forum.  A uniformed police officer had replaced one thing on his Glock 21, the take down lever.  There came an incident where he needed to pull the trigger to protect himself, and the gun merely goes click.  He erroneously thought it was an ammunition problem and he swore off all Federal Ammunition.  When the Glock representative for his area came down to look at the gun, he noticed the extended take down lever.  When it was taken out, and compared to a factory take down lever, the aftermarket one had a narrower slot for the spring.  The official explanation was the extended take down lever was responsible for the gun not completely locking up, causing a misfire.  That is why I don't recommend putting non-factory parts in a Glock intended for use in a life or death encounter.

One of my posts above, I highlighted in red and blue all of the parts you had listed.  With the exception of the Hogue Hand-All, I would not recommend any of the parts in red for a defensive sidearm.  The parts in blue are all available as factory parts, and, if properly installed, should cause no malfunction.

I don't know either? The guy I buy Glock parts from lists an ext. take down lever as a part he carries and I believe he only carries factory parts? I could be wrong?

I've only used one and it was installed on a Gen2 G17. I never had any issues with it but it sounds like maybe its more of an installation issue then anything?

Well I can kind of see why you are assuming his is not factory but we both know that getting a factory 3.5# connector is pretty easy

and I, yours. While I don't feel the need to swap out a bunch of parts on my Glocks, I don't care if other people do it and I do agree with you in that, if you are going to do it to a Glock that you may need to use to defend yourself with, then I would only use factory parts. Nobody makes more reliable Glock parts then Glock.
