I wonder how the recoil and followup is between a G23 with full house load, and the 10MM loaded down to that level! Seems like the G29 being a heavier, fatter gun would have quicker followup.

Anyone ever make the comparison?

have you ever fired a 10mm in a small frame? It's a beasty round in the full size G20. You could take a G23  drop a 24 lbs recoil spring with a non-captive rod in it and it will run like a 9mm. The 10mm is fun to shoot but the large the round the more follow time you have in between shots. JMO

I"m thinking along the lines of Dirty Harry.  He shot 44 Special out of a .44 Magnum. So shoot 10MM downloaded to .40 in a Glock 29. Wouldn't that be a Pussycat?

The G29 loses so much velocity for the 10mm cartridge that it's not even worth it. I would stay away from the G29.

Step away from the crack pipe!

That statement might be somewhat true for 200-220gr bullets or the anemic factory loads you get if you're not careful, but not for good ammo.  You'll lose maybe 100-150fps, depending on the powder/bullet combination.  You're still pushing 165-180gr bullets plenty fast for good expansion.  The 135-grainers are even better, of course.

If you'd feel under-gunned with a G29 full of DoubleTap, you're just not paying close enough attention!
