I shot my newly SBRd M85 at a local tactical match last weekend. It was a blast! I shot with iron sights, and did pretty well (for me). Here's video from the last stage. I think I should have registered for the flame thrower class instead of AK.

I've used a 7.5" AR many times, usually end up top 3

Won the last match with my 8" .300blk and suppressor

Not AK, I know...

Since you can't lock back AK (unless with a BHO mag), what constitutes "clearing" one to satisfy the rules?

Chamber flags are required on all rifles. That's what the RO dropped/picked up at the end.

I wasn't top 3, never am. I am usually in the top half of the AR class though.  Last month I used my 7.5" AR.

Thanks, never competed so didn't know what that was about there toward the end. Good going.

At my local club if you have a weapon "without" a bolt hold open you just show the RO that the chamber is clear and then pull the trigger on the empty chamber.

Nice shooting by the way.  I have used my 7.5" 6.8SPC AR in matches but not my shorty AK yet.  I SBR'd my Mini Draco last year and am dying to try it out in a match.

We do not allow Rifle Calibers in the bay that holds the shoot house.  But for one Action Shoot a year, we allow them.  It's for the people that want their rifle as their "Home Defense" gun.  Last year I took my PAP M92.  The Range Officer wasn't pleased with me.  Lots of concussion in the house from that.  Works great though.  Nice and tight around corners.  I started with it in my 5.11 Select Carry Sling pack (the one meant for an MP5).
