Got out to shoot today. The SB-47 Brace shoulders perfectly well but the iron sights on this AK pistol are truly awful. It is barely minute of stump at 30-50 yards. Shooting way left at least 5-6 inches left.

I do not need bolt gun type accuracy but I would like to get it close to where my side arms are in terms of useful accuracy.  Is there any hope or do I just need to plan on a red dot set up?

Do you have a front sight adjustment tool? Or is the front sight post maxed out already?

The front sight post is about maxed out. Will opening up the rear sight with a file do any good. I am tempted to just widen out the notch...how could it hurt?

That white paint fill on the rear sight is a disaster. It's almost impossible to focus on the front sight. I removed that crap and now it's much better. I am also considering widening the notch.

Obviously I'm biased, but I'm a fan of my setup:

No mine is a rapidfiretek

I went with them because they include the jig, drill, and proper tapping tool in their kit.

Looks good! Clean and low profile. I would appreciate workable iron sights as well but maybe the dot sight is the percentage play.

I'm going to cut down an Ultimak for my M85. I don't really trust top cover mounts, and the Ultimak is a proven system.

Why cut one down, Ultimak makes one for the M92/M85.

The red dot unscrews so you can use the sights with a quarter and some finger strength if something happens to your optic.

That I did not know.  I only have the 92 and thought the only difference was the receiver being bulged on the M85.

Are you guys getting return to zero when you lift your cover up or is it close to zero?  Are both the StormWerkz and Rapidfire mounts about the same in regards to build quality and ease of mounting?

I'll let you know in a couple of days as I ordered the Rapid Fire mount.  Their shipping is high for small parts, but I wanted two mounts, so I went with them.

I'll tell you one thing...the steel on the PAP pistols are thick/tough.  Drilling to tap for folding mechanism wasn't that easy.

+1 for the Ultimak system. I recently installed one on my PAP with a primary arms red dot and it is superb. Everything went together perfectly.

I was killing clay pigeons this Father's Day at 100 yards.without even trying. It would be nice if there were better iron sights on the market for the PAP but I don't think there is much that can be done with such a short sight radius.

But don't install a cheap Chinese flashlight on the rest of the rail. The recoil will beat it to death.

+1 for the StormWerkz. Plus, cheap and fast shipping.

Got my RFT top mount...his prices to ship are high considering they are tiny/light items that fit inside small USPS flat rate box.

Anyway, the jig is very useful and I drilled and tapped it in under 10 minutes.  I like Stormwerkz products, but I feel that 4 screws on their top mount is overkill and it does not include the jig.

With the StormWerkz you set the mount in place and use it as the guide/jig.
