Chuck6dny, nice VEPR, just wondering if you can co-witness your sights at all with the EOTech Red dot?  Or is it not quite low enough?

Wait! It's only 1/2 a mannequin! Plus my WIFE got it from her work, where it was only used to model in the sporting goods section!

Coming up with a GREAT excuse: +100

Unfortunately....no.  Also I added a cheekpad so I can see through the Holosight.

hartzpad

nice.

Two questions:

1. What did you use to attach the Harris bipod?

2. What scope mount is that, what did it cost, and where did you get it?

Just bought a K in .223 (CT AWB limits Kalashnikovs to any caliber other than 762x39), and interested in being able to use the Harris I have on my AR15.

Also interested in a scope mount, have seen them ranging in cost from $20 (CDNN) to $100 (RobArms, but out of stock), to $125 (IOR), concerned the cheap ones may be just that, but not up to spending $100-125 either.

1) Bipod is a knockoff Harris.  Similar to Harris LM IIRC, doesn't swivel, 9"-13" adjustable height, attached to stock VEPR sling swivel, very easy on/off, light and super solid.

2) Scope mount is a BP-02 low mount, got it from FreedomOptics.com for $39.99 IIRC.  Works great, don't buy the VEPR scope mount.  Most of the no name cheap ones are way too high to use without a cheekrest or riser.

I don't think that you need to do anything except shoot it.

+1 I used an ace reciever block that I had to make fit but it looked nice and prifesional when I got done. I had a CAR stock on it but the other day I took it off and out the standard stock back on it. It feels better and the ergonomics work better for me on the factory stock. Icould realy care less about a folding stock either. I shoot better with a fixed stock.

When I visited the US Embasy in Egypt the Marine gaurds that were in dress uniform had a set up just like yours. Fairly handy I would say. It does not talk back either!

LOL! Yeah, it doesn't cook or clean either, just like my wife!
BTW, how did you like Egypt? I was there last year for a month, in Cairo, Alexandria, and Sharm-el Sheik.

I was their for a while a few years back and had a blast. I was in the Cairo area. I loved the food once I got sick and could enjoy it for the rest of the tripp. My driver was awsome we became very god friends. The merchants who wanted to give me a "special deal" "no charge for looking" of course I did not trust LOL. It was an eye opener for sure. I was amazed that the pyramids at Giza are actualy in the city. I liked Sachara much better and the country side. I do not like cities so of coures I liked it out in the country much better as long as we followed a river that is. LOL. I do not know if I would pay $2500 a piece to go again though. I did have fun though probably because I was paid to be their and had lots of extra money to spend.

EDIT: I could not help the talk back joke it just came out.  +1 on the wife thing.

No they had a manikin (or however you spell it) near by with a rifle, helmet and stuff ready to go. If you ever started trouble in an embacy today you would be dead meat.
