Never thought I'd have a Type II.  So I never bought any mags.  Whoa, now I have one and don't have the correct mag.  Just need one.  Any leads?  Anyone see any around?  Have one you could part with?

Can you explain your question a little more?  You have a type II what? Is it a Saiga or Vepr? And which caliber is it?  Are you looking specifically for a slab-side mag?  I believe you can find them at K-VAR or Tennessee Guns.

I'm not sure the production dates, but the rifle I have has a 1954 date on the receiver stub. It is one of the recently imported Russian AK-47's from Northridge. Slab side mags were made before the ribbed mags we all know. They are rare and hard to find.  Expensive when you do find them. They are not avalable at Tenn. Guns or K=var. Ak's went through several revisions.  Type I, Type II, Type III, AKM, just to mention a few.  Also the various designs modified by the other com-block countries.  While they are basicly the same, there are diffrences.

Thanks for clarifying that.  I've seen slab sides come up for sale from time to time on the for sale board here: here but don't know of a current source.
