Im wanting to put a flash hider on my SAR1. I have a Bulgaia/Arsenal 4 piece FH 24mmx1.5 threads. Can the end of the barrel be threaded or do I have to get a new front Sight that's threaded like on the AK74?Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

For my Sar-1

I cut and threaded the barrel.  With the Type 74 muzzle brake silver soldiered in place the barrel length is 16.5 inches. The front sight was welded in place, it was replaced.

Not knowing how knowledgeable you are about threading an AK barrel, the article below may be of interest to you.

The die, TAT, and die handle to do the threading can be rented from ATAK, INC. You can get more information about this at www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=334779
