Was ghosting pawn shops this weekend and found a MAK-90 that appeared to be virtually unfired.

I ended up acquiring it and stripped it down.   It appears to be in excellent condition.

One thing that appears to be different is the receiver cover.

It has some sort of rail attached to it.

Does anyone know what this would be for?

I will post pics as soon as I came get them.

Well......   What other stuff should I look at???   Maybe some US parts are already in it??

The stock is the thumbhole stock and that is high on my list to replace.

Receiver is straight cut.     The trigger is SWEEEET.   The smoothest "factory" trigger I have felt.

When I found it, I came here to do some research.

After doing some research, I went back and picked it up.

Since it still has the butthole stock I doubt if it has any U.S. parts in it.  MAK90 triggers are usually very smooth, but they are crap compared to an RSA trigger

Surely not a "moment of weakness."  More like a moment of wisdom!

Enjoy it!

You did good. Especially since it's a straight cut reciever. That opens up alot more stck options for you.  I got a Milled MAK and had to get an Ironwood ( great quality ) slant cut set. I haven't put it on yet.. Lazy.............and no time to spare .. Congrads wardawg

Hard to say.   It was a trade deal.....

I traded a rifle for the MAK and a like new EAA witness 45.

I had a less than $400 in the traded rifle.....  :)

So you either got the rifle for free, or the pistol for free...  NICE!

Looks like a good rifle to do a conversion on. , get rid of that firewood stock, add a threaded barrl, front sight, and bayo lug and you have one hell of a rifle.
