How effective can that little PBS5 be on a rifle cartridge ? It doesn't look that much larger than a Ruger MkII suppresor.

Not really the same as a western deal with supersonic ammo.. They were mainly intended to be used with subsonic ammo. The Soviets actually have a special rear site for use with it. |

Now thats a interesting M70 there. Notice it has the correct gas block for the grenade launcher sight valve but its not there.

Where the hell did THAT pic come from?? Is that a weapon actually being used over there?? Did the Yugos put side rails on these? Suppressor looks almost local/"homemade"!

Yup, some of the underfolders did have scope rails on their receivers, with the stock strut thinned down a little to clear it, like the safety lever on the right side. The suppressor.........probably is home made by a guy who had his own muffler shop in Sarajevo.....

Actually, the Yugo looks like the same basic pattern that I have seen on M76s and M92s.

I wonder if this Serb knows his gun is not "correct"???
What will the guys at the range think : ) Seems there is an absurd limit to any "connoisseur" endeavor and I keep encountering it. Example, I just received a Yugo RPK kit, stocks carved up like a lot of them but without the cool national crest or anything charming. I am building it with a cool looking Russian Plum RPK stock set,,,,my friend calls this "basterdizing"... : ) As if the original troop that carried that gun wouldnt slap a cooler looking stock on it, if nothing else just to stand out!!! : ) |
