Please excuse my ignorance towards the AK line of guns. My knowledge is very limited in terms of the different quality levels within the AK manufacturing world. I'm new to this forum so I have made several searches and have found some really great info from you guys. I've also read the different AK sub-forums. Thanks for the posts.

Through out my searches I understand Vulcan Arms is not a welcomed name because of quality issues on certain products. I did find out from them though via email correspondence that their listed/advertised AK's are made in Russia using Saiga parts. Most of the components are Russian made and of course turned into a US legal weapon.

My question is, have any of you ordered one of these from Vulcan or have a Saiga AK-47? How is it and should I take the plunge? If Vulcan is using Saiga and the rifle is primarily made in Russia, shouldn't it be a good weapon?

I apologize if this has been beaten to death. I'm just a bit skeptical of Vulcan because of the posts I've read. I think Saiga is decent but I'm relying on your expertise and experience in order to make the right decision.

Thanks for the replies and pointing me in the right direction.

I have 2 Saigas and they are both excellent.  That Vulcan uses Saiga is news to me and doesnt sound right.

I love my Saiga convert. I have seen a few Saiga converts with terrible jobs done by the monkeys at Vulcan. The muzzle devices were poorly welded on, and overall look like a real hack job. For some real good Saiga info check out this site.  Look towards the bottom at Hesse conversions. Vulcan=Hesse=Joeken.

Thanks for the replies. The AK-47 Saiga I'm interested from Vulcan is their V47-210. 7.62 cal, tactical sights....AR short sights and full poly hardware. From the pictures they don't look too shabby. I'm really relunctant in proceeding with a purchase though. From what I've read here, quality isn't their strong point. Their Saiga AK-47 looks similar to the Krebs version. Reason I'm liking it alot.

Still pondering the purchase with Vulcan.

I spoke to Vector and they are aways out on the backorder fulfillment list. I'm looking at 1 year for the underfolder and the buttstock version they offer in poly. I will still get the Vector's if I have a Saiga when it comes in next year. So,  I'm not worried about having too many AK's. Also on the Vector wait list for the H&K V51.  This waiting in line to get your guns thing is difficult.

I'll call Atlantic as well to see if they will deal( $ ) with my FFL for their AK underfolders.

Thanks
