U.S. made gas pistons.  Are the all the same?  If not, what is the best source?

It wouldn't be hard to turn one on a lathe.  What would be the appropriate alloy to use if one was to attempt his own?

They're all pretty much the same. DPH Arms has them available at a good price.

Since the imported pistons are magnetic, the US ones are made of non-magnetic 300-series stainless steel to identify them as a non-import part. 304 stainless would be a good choice.
