It's a Romanian underfolder convert with Laukert Polish furniture, and Gold Plating (guncote) |
NO KIDDING? what folder is that? I thought for sure that was a Polish PMKMS. That is great for a Romy and some underfolder. Oh and without a doubt mike_f's Type III was my thought and vote to begin with!!! |

GOOD LORD, this is the best of the picture thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many gorgious AKs MikeF's AK-47 is probably the finest clone I have ever seen done. I had to go with KevinM4's mainly because I like newer AK styles but also because he did the work himself which I know was not easy.
Edited for crappy spelling |
Yeah, that AK-101 of his looks damn cool for new school! Hell, I'm a poet and didn't even know it........... |
I give it to K1196a. Mike_f is a close second.
But damn look at the trouble K1196a has went to to make that collection what it is. K1196a for sure. |
Damn, I can't make a definate choice. This is like an all Russian AK picture thread.
OK, OK, quit rubbing it in!! |
The one thing I noticed in a buch of these photos is that most of these rifles don't have the trademark scratch from the selector lever. How do you prevent that.
absolutely gorgous AKs! Ooops did I just use gorgous and AK in the same sentence
your m90 is nice but i really like your bulgi i dont know why i like it so much but it gets me wet |

If I have to vote mine goes to MikeF and K1196a absolutey gorgeous weapons.
This rifle is gorgeous...the only thing I do not like is the way the selector stops look but I still think it is one of the best out there! With that said, here is my Arsenal Classic Underfolder with factory Russian wood, one of only 10 built by Arsenal, Thanks Templar |
Yeah, those things are gorgeous!
You and Cleis lucked out. Honestly, there are some really, really, really kick ass rifles in this group guys. K1196A went to a lot of trouble to get all those accutroments......hell that aluminum mag in his Type III would probably pay for an AK all by itself. Mike's rifle as done by The Firing Line and Ted MArshall is definitely a thing of beauty! |
I vote for Xcibe for a REAL close 2nd!! Damn nice UF. |

Like Kevin said, it's pretty cool to be considered having one of the nicest looking darkside weapons....
Here's the other two pics, closeup of the soviet HG's and a shot from another angle, both are in the pic thread also. Still need some russkie bakelites though, haven't gotten around to order them yet. |
SWEEEEET!! |
tag....
.........this one definitely needs a poll, but who's gonna decide who's in the poll....Templar?(you started this after all ) |
I think the old used look fits the AK personality the best. Is that barrel length shorter than standard?
That's the standard 16" barrel lenth. It may look shorted becouse it is a heavier barrel. A Polish underfolder weighs 7pounds. This thing weighs 8 pounds. Everything on it is heavier than the newer AKs.
Nice gun!!! |
