[ARCHIVED THREAD] - $400 to spend. What to get?

I've been lurking here for a while and now I'm ready to go ahead and obtain an Ak in 7.62 x 39. I came close to ordering a $279 WASR-10 from Classic Arms the other day, but now I'm wondering if I should go ahead and spend a little more money if I can get something better for around $400. What do you gurus think?

Save a bit more and get the Vector. I haven't been on the site for a while, but when i got mine they did a payment plan. I never would have been able to swing it if they hadn't. They're an awesome group of people to deal with.

Legal here in the UK

I've seen a few AR74's in "straight pull" with scopes at the ranges I frequent

Agreed. The vector is nice i'm sure, but its a US receiver and i'd take a SAR over that any day.

And so you dont think i'm just hatin on US receivers, my favorite firearm is a AKS-74 built on a global.
