Got one of the Romy kits and the recoil comp is stuck.  Must be rusty.  Anyone have any ideas?  Are they all lefty threads like on the Polish kits?  I got some penitrating oil on it now (24 hours), I took the push pin out (drift) and used some rubber between pliers, wont budge.  I don't want to damage the outside of the compensator.
HELP!!!

All i can say is either soak it in Kroil for a few days which is available at brownells or heat the sucker with a torch and gently turn it with pliers gently, if you mark up the comp. you can usually buff it out. The rifle may have been fired with corrossive ammo at one point and was not cleaned very well, the rust should be very minor.  McM

If that doesn't work, you could fire several hundred rounds in rapid succession. That should heat it up.

I'm using regular penitrating oil.  I used up all my Kroil after I finished shooting Moly bullets in Highpower Matches.

Any others had this problem?  Pookie?

Stupid question I know, but are you turning it the correct direction.  It is NOT Righty Tighy - Lefty Loosy, but the other way around since it is left hand thread.

Had to correct myself on a FAL brake yesterday, and I know better.

Also, you could get a MAPP torch and heat her up good.  If someone used some red loctite, that will break it free.

I'm (trying) to turn it clockwise.  The same as my Polish AK's comp.  Q:   Did the commie's have red loc-tite?

Heat will tell the tale.

I did hear a while back that Century really cranked on the brakes and that some where having troubles getting them off.

I never did hear how they turned out.
