hey guys. new to this part of the forum. i am looking for a ak around $500-$700. any ideas of what kind? or any of u have them for sale? any web pages with them? i am new to the ak type rifle so any info would be great.

In that price range you might want to look at the Vectors, which are kit built rifles, and have a good rep (Atlantic Arms sells them), the Arsenal Inc. SA-M7 Carbine, or get a good kit and an Armory USA/Global Trades receiver and have a smith build one up for you.

I'm also new to the world of AK.  I've been an AR guy for years and then finally got the itch for an evil rifle.

After looking around and handling many AKs I ended up going with Arsenal Sam7 A1-R.  Arsenal seemes to be in a class of its own compared to all of the other AKs I've seen on the market.  You may want to look into them but you pay about twice the price of the average AK.  I got mine for about $800.
