yeah I guess anything new is always cool, but if it doesn't have the 74 break, I don't see what the real difference is. Wonder if they sell 74 breaks for 5.45mm, I've only seen them for 7.62, because the 5.45mm rifles already have them.
still might grab one

I would love one just to blast some 5.45 with...the only thing in 5.45 currently is the high end stuff....or built kits
gotta have something to use all these bulgy mags for on a sunny day |

Yeah i'm funny like that though....it's either a blaster WASR or a correct military clone..I couldn't have the ban 105, but you are right that is a good rifle and a great deal |

I understand that, the post ban 105 makes a great start for a clone through, 100 series. A poly sidefolder gb/fsb combo and a long break.... |

Not anymore, they discontinued that model and they now have a more expensive model with a price increase to come. The price will be more unless you get in on jnewt's group buy on the EE.

Convert them over with US made parts. I'm suprised the ATF hasn't caught on to this. 5.45 WASR? COOL! Cheap 5.45 rifle. Nothing wrong with that. ben |

those people over on gunco keep saying the guns are over 500 dollars to buy. 535, 510.. ect.
they keep saying "dont be fooled, thats their dealer price, you'll spend 500 on it" am i just totally lacking the ability to read or is that a steaming pile of crap? |

For the SAR3, a Bulgy bbl was used, since Rom did not make a 5.56 bbl of their own. The combo sat differently so the std hammer Century used (or any std AK hammer for that matter) hit it at an angle. This is why Red Star Arms makes a SAR3 specific hammer. I can only guess at this point that the WASR is a single stack import version of the same, then hicap modded here. Probably a good reason to load up on $15 Weigers at IO if you want one of these guns. |

That was basically my assumption - if it is, I was looking at these as working "spare parts" for those already in hand. Wieger 10 packs were down to $119+shipping. Im set there though. Wonder how mangled the conversion is. Luck Alac Edited to add - Should have pointed out, it was the non-black carrier that made me wonder at the similarity of these rifles |
