Despite a lot of posts beating up on the WASR's I picked up a GP WASR from Aim and went about tweeking it.  End result was very nice indeed (As a mechanic, nothing made can't be improved).
I added an AK74 Brake and Foregrip, SAW pistol grip, Real Galil Gen 2 Folding Stock, BulgarianWaffle Mag, KOBRA sight, Red Star FCG and Shepherds Hook replacement, Recoil Buffer, and last, a nice Semi Gloss Molly Resin finish. WASR no more.........

Excellent!

Please tell us how you did the real Galil folder...I've heard it's not exactly easy to do.

Thanks

The Galil folder was a pain in the ass, but I like it.  There's a 5 degree difference between the back of a Galil and AK receiver. In order to mate the 2 parts you either have to make a receiver block with the correct angle (I started two versions, but found them to be heavy and hard to get the results I wanted without a mill), or the easy route for me was to buy a receiver block from ACE and make a 5 degree wedge (steel) to weld the Galil stock knuckle to (see pics).
The problem is that the receiver block is aluminum, the knuckle steel. I made the wedge from steel
and joined it to the block w/ JB weld and 4 machine screws.  After the epoxy cured, I cut the heads off, button welded the remaining bolt to the wedge and ground flat.  Once I found a stock position I was comfortable with, the tube was cut off the stock knuckle and knuckle was welded to the wedge plate. I also welded the sides and top area up and ground down to get the profile I wanted. Last, I took an inch of lenght off the tubes to make it feel a little better.  The easy route would have been to wait a few months. A company called Silver Shadow (Israel) is supposed to start importing kits. ACE and AK47.com also make quality Galil clones.
Here's some pics of the stock build,

Looks very cool.

Looks like the trigger area is slightly blocked, and can you work the safety with with it folded?

Everything is clear with the stock shortened by an inch, more than that might be trouble. If I would have left things alone there would have been plenty of room. The picture is a little deceiving.

I honestly think that is by far the best looking WASR conversion that I have seen yet.  Great job, I really like all the effort that you put into the Galil stock,  a neat shooter.
