to swap out gas blocks, you must remove any muzzle device, the front sight base (two 3mm cross pins) and the old gas block (more cross pins).
the job requires a 20 ounce ball pein hammer, a nail set, a 3/32" drift punch and access to a press (useful in removing and installing the fsb and gas block). how is your brake attached to the rifle? |

I have a threaded slant brake on it now that I istalled. What about the new 74 brake???

ISn't the lug on a 74 more forward than on a 47 because of the 74 mussle brake. What do I need to do to put a 74 lug on?

I need to put on lug on my 47 with a slant brake and a 74 with a 74 type brake.

Hewey,when you say 47,are you talking about an AK with a milled receiver or are you generalising?The only reason I ask,is because the stamped AKM and the milled AK47 take two different bayonets.

oh, sorry. it is a stamped ramanian 7.62 akm with a slant brake. The other is the same but 5.54 with a 74 type brake.

Follow Campys instructions above for the 7.62 Romanian.
The 5.45 will be easier as the bayonet lug is made onto the 74 FSB.You'll need the 22mm Romanian FSB and brake,installation is pretty straight forward in that you're changing out the FSB. |
