Holy !
that sir, is incredibly well done. Who do you do CGI work for? |
This has way too many polygons for an in game model correct?
It is by far the most detailed AK or any computerized gun model I have seen. |
Thanks GUYS!
I appreciate all the compliments, keeps me going. The newest PC engines, and Next Generation Consoles will be able to handle 15,000 - 20,000 polygons for First Person Models. And with LOD (level of detail) models you would be able to have a good frame rate. its not the polygons, its the texture size that makes the headaches for us developers. |
are you kidding me...... those are STUNNING.
WARNING WARNING new wallpaper alert. |
Beautiful as always. Would sure like to see some wallpapers or the model released as freeware so we can all play with it (those who have 3ds that is).
take care, Tec |
I can see Buzz Lightyear and Woody battling Zurg with it. That's impressive.
that is totaly cool very nice now I want to see it animated with case ejection mussel flash that would be soooooooooo .....................cool you guys
Damn, dude. That texturing is looking SWEET. I did CGI as a hobby for several years, and texturing was never a strong point of mine. I envy those that can texture well.
How much time do you think you'll have into it when you're completely done?
Same here.. lets put him in a potato sack and. get some golf cl... Damn good job ! last shots almost look truly photorealistic One question tho.. how did ya get luminosity renders out of max? |
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess he used the finalRender plugin from Cebas.
Such work belongs in a museum, in video games, and on posters in the shop next to Miss July, great work.
That awesome!
It would cool if, instead of photochopping, when some1 wanted to see a theoretical setup you could just adjusts dimensions on a model like that. What prog are you using? EDIT: oops, saw it, 3ds Max...Back in the day (when i was like 14) I used to play alot with milkshape...I wish i was that good. |
Wow, having done both 3DS Max in school, and a whole lot of AutoCAD renderings, that had to take a while! Beautiful work though! Wow, you work for THQ? They make good stuff over there, so keep up the good work.
the surface texture on the mag and pistol grip are very good.
how many hours do you have in on it, so far? |
Wow, your work is amazing! How long have you been doing CG for a living?
stunning...
man, to have a game that could run with that level of detail would be the pinnacle of achievment!!! |
Guys,
Thanks a lot for all the compliments! It means a lot. Especially when I got 3 hours of sleep, and now reading this makes me feel better. Thanks again I've been doing 3D for 7 years The reciever is Stamped AKM Should be done tonight. Total hours probably over 12 for sure. |
Wow! Only 12 hours?!
I couldn't do it if you gave me 12 years. That is amazing work. I can't wait to see the finished project. |
Could you do that same thing for that other rifle we talk about here? (you know that AR thingy)
Looks good, but I could do better in MS Paint. Once you have mastered the "Airbrush" feature of Paint, you are basically untouchable. 3D... psh... that shit'll never catch on.

Very, very impressive work! I guess next you have to do a Krink, don't you?
Can you tell us what products you've been involved with lately? Battle for Bikini Bottom, perhaps? CJ |
Thats absolutely the best damn thing I have seen in a long time, excellent work!
fucking spaceman!!!!
dude, you owe me bigtime! my monitor and keyboard just got yogurt spit all over them! THAT was fucking funny as all get out! |
Big nod from this artist. Sometimes I wish I had moved from advertising into 3D animation, from the small amount of 3D work I did in college I am comfortable with model building, it's texturing and actually animating stuff that I struggle with.
Spaceman.....dude!... It takes a lot to make me snot my monitor!
....you sir, made me snot my monitor! |
Oh my goodness, RussianKaliber. That is truly amazing work. The texturing and detail on the sight is so realistic, it defies belief!
Awesome man, I second the request for a krink next with red russian laminate. Or an SVD.
