Are these AKs ok for what I want?
yes. they are a little rough around the edges and the finish is nothing to write home about, but generally speaking they a good investment. plan on replacing the trigger group eventually. |

Shooting the snot out of mine for years, including obligatory handguard smokings, still about 4 moa.

Doc,
Romy's are good rifles. Campy is correct on finish & trigger group. I have 7 Romy's & have a great time shooting them all. I've got 7.62, 5.45 & .223. They are all good performers & I will add more to my collection.

bought one at the gun store with two 40 round mags, LULA, and 500 rounds for $440. How'd I do? It looks like a POS but that's what I expected. I don't want it as a safe queen anyway. I'll probably refinish the wood though.

Romy's are great gizmos. Get a few. Remember it's an AK, not an AR. Shoot accordingly.
