I'm getting a cheap Pre-ban Norinco AK-47...

It is in so-so shape, apperence wise...

I wanna do something custom with it, but I am needing help with deciding what...

In a way, it kinda looks like a battle hardend vet..finish worn stock finish worn...

Well any way here is the story on that...The guy that had it did'nt like the finish on the stock so he sanded it while it was still on the gun...(DUMBASS)

And he moved teh sling loop to the right side of the gun, with pliers and a screwdiver..so the gas block and barrel have some nice gouges on it...

I was thinking of a ak-104 with the folding plastic russian stock??

Or just have it refinished to like new norinco config??

Give me some ideas...or show me some pics..when i get the gun i will post some pics..

Or just leave it in the battle vet look??

But the sling loop has got to be replaced and on the "Correct side"

Yeah, if you want to make it a Chinese beauty, then have a nice, dark bluing job done and replace the furniture.

If you want to be more ambitious, get one of these jobbers;

www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=211&1=212&3=482

along with one of those Russian polymer folders which I believe Tantal still has at the moment for a good price.

Then send it to AK-USA, as they seem to be the experts when it comes to making authentic AK-100 series clones right.

Personally I would do the a latter if I had the money.  I love the look of a quality Chicom, but the AK-104 would be a true custom peice.

I think I will just give it a new chi-com stock set, If I can find one...Then do the deep blue...Even if the ban goes away there still will be no more Chinese AKs....

Any body have a idea whom to do the Deep blue refinsh...I am looking at Investment Grade Firearms...

After buying a stock set replacing the parts and blueing, I will still have way under a grand in her and she will look like new...

Most anyplace that does gunsmithing does bluing as well.

I wouldn't even bother sending it to an AK specialist in this case.  If you have any kind of gunsmith in your area you should be set.

Out of curiosity, what config is the Norinco in?  By that I mean does it have the underfolding Bayonet, full-circle front sight, that big sleeve on the barrle. etc.
