Once, I went to DU, I was banned within an hour. I wasn't even trying to be banned, heck, my family is made up of Democrats who have been elected to office! I think they didn't like the fact that I like guns. It was four posts for me. The funny thing was that I put on a moderate persona, instead of my real "ravingly right wing" reality!

I got banned from DU in three posts.
And the kicker is, I was having a NICE, very polite and pleasant conversation with a member or two. Nothing to write home about. I was taking a moderate view, and being low key about it. I don't think there's much that's funnier or more pathetic than a website where you will get banned for NOT holding a radical belief....ONE PARTICULAR radical belief, at that! How can you expect to make any meaningful difference or have any meaningful conversations if the site administrators won't even allow more than one side of an issue to be discussed? If that's how democrats really think, they're utterly doomed. CJ |

Does that mean I get banned from here? boycunt hasn't banned me yet from his site... even though I've conspicuously posted info about the falfiles episode... but I think they tend to review new posts, so the old ones sit around for newbies who do searches to find. Where is this "democratic underground" anyway? I'll have to go try to teach some sense to them, seeing as I used to be a democrat. |

LOL, I was banned from ak47.net after about 6 posts. Guess I pissed a mod off after he got smart with me I returned the favor......what a bunch assholes they are over there. I was just banned at assualtweb.net for disagreeing with a mod there.....he banned me because I didnt agree with him. LOL oh well :) It makes me laugh, a place that supposedly supports the 2nd amendment says they dont allow free speech....what an idiot, they go hand in hand.

Was that over the nutty thread about the post ban Norincos??? Hell, 90% of that laugh - fest has been deleted! I'll admit, the AKnut is a good guy, I've enjoyed alot of corrospondance with him. Yes. Informer is the name that Gary G. used on ak-47.net... AFAIK, when he was taking money and guns but never sending anything back, anyone who pointed this out on this forum there had their posts deleted. Eventually the Kansas attorney general stepped in and siezed everything. But Ak-47.net was complicit in the alleged fraud for years. I say alleged only because I don't know for sure... but their behaviour is dishonest any way you cut it in my book. IF you're going to pretend to have an open, uncensored forum, and then selectively delete posts, leaving only glowing reviews (by people who hadn't gotten their rifles back!) you're helping to cover up the situation. |

I think that the big difference is that Ak.net is accused of deleting posts for the purposes of making money, often times at the expense of their membership (Informer, Joeken, Tapco etc). Over here posts are deleted as a means of maintaining decorum. Its a fine line but, an important one.

Yeah, that was me. I guess I couldn't take much more of those guys talking about their "Museum Section" in their safes. I just snapped when one of them jumped on madhatter for his pics. "Those stocks are fixed open, Right??" Later on in that thread, the mod actually claimed it was their "JOB" to ask such questions due to all the ATF agents who are busting people for parts count violations. Well, since some of these guys are averaging 20 posts a day, it's obvious they have no other job! |

Why not leave the other boards to their own business and mind your own? Hang out where you feel like, and enjoy it. Flaming DU people, and calling names on gunsnet solves absolutely nothing, changes nothing, does nothing. Do you want DU and gunsnet people here stirring up trouble? I suspect not, so don't incite, invite or applaud your own for doing it to other boards. Grow the fuck up. Start acting like decent gun owners instead of petulant, pissy diaper toddlers. Swingset - I do agree with that to an extent. If someone is just going in, trolling, and trying to start shit then yes, it is within that boards right and best interest to ban that person. However, if you would have witnessed some of the things that people were banned for at DU I think you would see that there is a difference. When they have a poll that asks "what is the hardest drug you have ever done" and gives a big ass list and that is ok, but ask someone if the second amendment applies to the state or the individual and you get banned for it? That is a little extreme to me when you are asking someone for their opinion to get a feel for the water and not being confrontational.

Ok, I don't know what went on or what is going on between the warring gun boards because I am new here, nor do I have a desire to be a part of it so that was not the intention of my post.
However, I can say that I love watching irrational people who blindly follow (like those at DU) react when confronted with facts that blow their theories out of the water or are forced to think for themselves instead or spouting mindless and baseless facts. That was my purpose for visiting DU. As far as the other board that was mentioned, never been there, have no intention of going. I am an AK owner, soon to be picking up another one after I pay for the Bushmaster a2 I ordered and thought I would jump in on a conversation that I found interesting. Forgive me if I have stepped into the middle of a war I did not know was going on. |
