which handguard...upper or lower?
if lower, make sure you have the retainer as far to the rear as possible before throwing the locking lever. |

It's the upper handguard.

removing the upper handguard, and then slightly bending the retainer flanges can snug things up. i know a guy that epoxied his in place...but that's kind of permanent.

Thanks Campy, I was thinking the same thing regarding bending the retainer a bit, I guess if it wont affect its performance, I wont worry about it. Its only has a little bit of play, and I wasnt sure if that was normal or If I screwed up reassembly. Thanks for the help!
