This is an excellent tool that has been around for a while--THE WAYBACK MACHINE. Put in any URL and it takes you back many years of the site's history. I figured I'd put in some AK sites and it's pretty humorous. Like what Tapco's site was like in 1996. Probably a trip down memory lane for most people. Here are some fun finds for me:
We have just received "Inside Information" -- BANNED!! Notice Effective 8/17/2000 6:00pm. We have just received "Inside Information". BATF has now banned the importation of "Assault Weapon" Receivers and Barrels. -- Look at the rifles page--BANNED!! G-3 CETME .308cal
Quoted: Wow, that's pretty good, they heard about it 5 years in advance...
The barrel ban?
It was made law then, ATF just decided to let us import barrels under the "repair/replacement" loop hole, now they have decided not to allow the loop hole any more.

I was lucky and got 2 SAR-2's from them for $269.00 a while back. I actually ordered only one and due to a clerical error on their part, I was sent two. And just think, I almost sent the extra one back.

Pretty cool.
I used to have a Centerfire catalog from I think Jan '95 or '94, and it remember the 75rd chinese drums were $40 and the 100 rounders were $50 or $55. I wish I knew were it was because it would make for some nice pics in this topic.

I also picked up a pair of SAR2s before the prices shot up. I think I got them for $249 each. I didn't know the value would shoot up so much. I thought they'd be replaced with something more elaborate and expensive after the ban expired. Kit building wasn't common back then and the ATF hadn't reneged on their import policy yet. I keep one bone stock and the other one is slowly being transformed into an 'evil feature' showboat.
