I have several high cap mags and it seems they all feed the round low it does not go in with that 6 degree angle that you normally get from the factory 10 round mags
does anyone else experience this problem?

The high capacity SKS magazines rarely work properly.  Your best bet is to stick with the fixed 10 shot magazine. Check the "duck bill mag" thread in the SKS section.

I am going to try and bend them

dont bother bending them, the feed lips just barely clear the bolt as it is, if you bend them so it feeds properly the bolt will drag on them and bend them back to the wrong position anyway. Most of the time if you get them in the right spot the bolt wont even close. Although, I have heard the new polymer mags from promag are built to much better tolerances than anything previously available and the promags usually work either out of the box or with very little filing of the lips (to clear the bolt, since every sks is a little different and no mag can be made to fit every one of them because of that). If you really want hi-caps to work sell your gun and buy an SKS-D or SKS-M that takes AK mags (and feeds from them as reliably as an AK).

Don't try to make your SKS something that it isn't.  It will work fine with the 10 round fixed magazine.  If you want an AK, then sell your SKS and buy an AK.

No, but he's correct.

In true ARFCOM fashion, keep the SKS, get an AR and AK! The family just ain't complete if ya don't have 'em all.

Hmm, this "Boss" must be an inside joke...

However, I have arrived at this conclusion about the SKS, and AK, from experience.  My rifles have had more TAPCO shit on them than an airsoft convention.  Its all gone now, replaced by the original beauty of a functional firearm.

Dude, duckbills just don't work well.  Bend it all you like and good luck to you, but realize that the experience of many people is that those magazines are built like shit and won't work out.  This is a piss-poor shame, as the SKS is supremely reliable and actually a good bit of fun to shoot in it's stock form.

The rifle loads from nice 10 round stripper clips, they're fast easy and cheap.  Load them up watching TV.

Maybe you're right on though.  Maybe you've got better plier skills than the last hundred guys who came in here wondering why their aftermarket mags didn't work.  If you figure it out, be sure and post about it.  Pictures would be great.  Everyone WANTS them to work after all.

Don't bother with the AR. Just put the factory magazine back in the SKS, buy the AK and buy lots of ammunition with the money you saved by not getting an AR.
