Is there someone out there who could cut a pair of replacement "jaws" for a 24" bolt cutter out of flat stock, which would turn it into a rivet squeezer with the needed "reach around" to do AK trunnion rivets? Moving the contact points out would sacrafice some leverage, but the 24" length should make up for it. It wouldn't have to be pretty, as long as the holes lined up and the thing worked.

When I made mine, I used the pictures from here as a template.  Just get some bolt cutters (I used 24") and an angle grinder and your good to go.

the cutterhaping link you can follow has a scanned image of the 24" jaws that I use on the original set... one for each set but you can build from that.
