I screwed up, I thought the link was to http://ak-47.net instead of http://ak47.net. I am sorry to have confused the two.
Here is what I know:
1.) what is the OAL of the gas piston for 7.62 cal....k-var shows a 2 inch piston threaded into the charging handel, but states not for the 7.62 ?? can someone measure theirs for me ??
The only Krink I have is a 5.45 can't help you there. I can't imagine there is much difference between the 7.62 and 5.45 Krink.
2.) can you cut down the piston to size and re-weld ??
Probably could, I have seen some US made short pistons advertised at Tapco I believe.
3.) can you cut down the gas tube, reshape, and does the real krink tube have vent holes in it ??
That would probably work just fine.
4.) if I wanted to keep it looking more authentic, k-var has krink front site block and gas block all in one together, but sells for almost $90
That would be the way I would go - 90 bucks is pretty cheap if your time is important to you.
what is the OAL length of entire gun tip to back, and the length of barrel of actual krink
Barrel length is 8 " So overall would be around 17 "
