The standard thickness for European AK's is 1mm, or .040 inchs. A internet company called IBE sells prebent blanks for receivers that are .040 thick. I don't have their addy at hand. Roderus custom gunworks is oriented towards the home builder using prebent blanks. There is lots of info there for the building of prebent blanks. The prebents are not hardened, so you will need to do that after completeing the build.

tec-nine is correct.
a euro akm receiver is 1mm (.0394") thick. a chinese akm is 1.5mm (.0591") thick rpk receivers ar 1.5mm thick. 16 gauge sheet stock is .0598" thick. 19 gauge sheet stock is .0418" thick. 20 gauge sheet stock is .0359 thick. |
