Don't get rid of it, make the entire stock that dark color.
Spray the whole stock with WD-40, leave it on overnight and rub anything left off with a dark colored cloth. You could also use CLP, applied with a rag or sponge, and do the same. You"re set!

I had suspected I may have to "stain" the rest of the stock with some type of oil...if it works, no big deal. I noticed Some BM stocks at the gunshow today that also had some of these stains on the stock.
