What have YOU heard?
The only thing that I can think of is if you slop a bunch of Hoppes #9 in the gun and then before it has dried you put CLP over it you would dilute the CLP mixture. I have used Hoppes #9 to clean my really dirty guns, let them dri and then use CLP. |

Generally it is probably better not to mix solvents since most of us aren't chemists and are not sure what the potential reactions will be if various chemicals are mixed.
That being said, in my experience most gun solvents/lubricants are compatible with each other. Hoppes #9 and BreakFree CLP will not cause any trouble with each other. |

In my experience, as long as you thouroughly wipe the parts free of solvent prior to applying CLP(or any other oil, LSA, etc) it is not an issue.
