I probably don't need to worry about it, but I feel more comfortable using .17 rods for my .22's and .223, and using the .22 cleaning rod for my .30 caliber rifles. Anyone do this? It just seems to me that the .22 cleaning rod fit is a little too close in the barrel. I'm using the Dewey coated rods.
I use the correct-sized jags and brushes. I've just read a lot on how you want to keep the rod centered in the bore so you don't scratch it, seems like this might help a bit there.
