If you can get a good grip on them you can just "man handle" it and get them off. That is what I do.

pull down on the delta ring and shake it untill one rests on the delta ring. then work the other one out.

I got brave and tried once by myself. The manual says to use a buddy...I found out why.
It can be done, but man is it tough. Mine is pretty new/stiff also. |

Using a pocket knife, bevel the edges of the handguard extensions that engage the surfaces of the delta rings.
a 45 degree angle will do nicely and not be noticed when assembled. It makes things easier, and will avoid cracks later on. S-28 |

Delta ring springs tend to vary from light to so strong even the standard buddy method does not work. I have one of each.
Try using the grip section on a pair of long Channel-Lock pliers to wrap around the ring and press down. Someone in here came up with that and it provides a lot more leverage. What do you need to clean in there? Did something get in through the vent holes? |
