I can't get the receiver end plate to slide down the threads so I can install the stock to it's proper depth. The part isn't big enough to let the threaded end through. What am I doing wrong?  It's a VLTOR buffer tube. The maker of the receiver end plate is unknown.

i dont think your doing anything wrong. i think your end plate is out of spec. id either take a dremmel to it or by a new one.

Look at it closely and with a fine narrow file (flat, round, whatever it takes and fit it to work or get another part. It is more than likely the index tab. Had the same prob. a couple of times.
