Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Charging handle rubbing on lower?

This is my 1st AR15 (cobbled together gun of my own manufacture) and I'm not sure if this is right or not.  Mega lower, CMT upper, CMT CH.  The finish is all rubbed off from the lower where the charge handle has been rubbing on it as I've been checking the gun out (never fired).

Is this normal?  I'm  not trying to be paranoid, but rather make sure that everything is alright.
