Hi, I need help... my OA93 pistol is shooting bullets in an erratic pattern AND punching keyhole holes on target. Bullets are hitting sideways!!! This has never happened to me. I was shooting for the first time UMC yellow box 55gr. I have always used American Eagle 55gr. and Fed. Match BTHP without a problem.

Does anyone has any idea?

Have you looked down the bore? At what distance are you shooting? How long is the barrel?

Have you tried shooting some of your other ammo through it?
It sounds like the box may have been mis-marked, if you are shooting a heavier bullet, like a 68 grn. in a older 1 in 12 barrel, this can happen due to inability to stablize the round.
Especialy in a short barrel as a pistol has.

I will try to shoot other ammo tomorrow.

Bore looks the same as before.

I was shooting at about 7yrds.

Barrel is 6.5 in. (I believe)

Bullet weight was 55grs. (so the box says)

I have previosly shot 62gr match ammo without problems.

If "OA" stands for Olympic Arms, there's your answer.

I own an Olyarms K23 with 7 inches barrel and vortex suppressor, the very same thing happened to mine some time ago, I shooted 55 grs LAPUA bullet over a 19.2 grs dose of vithavuory N120 (that was prior that some good soul here opened my eyes on N120...) maybe the culprit is in the bullet, if I switched to 75 grs, the problem disappeared, maybe it's the powder..too fast.

I remember however, that bullet tended to tumble when the barrel was very hot.

Are you shooting reloads or factory ammo?

However with every brand of factory ammo, bullets never keyholed in my 7" AR.

Hope it helps.

I was shooting factory UMC yellow box 55 gr. .223 Rem.

I have previously shot American Eagle and Federal Match without incidents. In fact, gun is pretty accurate! but with this ammo things were severely dissapointing. I will try to fo to the range as soon as possible with different ammo. In the mean time, does anyone has a suspicion on what this could be???

robertmegar,

As Gunslinger808 asked, please shoot some of your other ammo and get back to us.
