Is there anything here that will not fit or work correctly with everything else? Is the emod stock heavy for this setup? Am I missing anything? I plan on buying the magpul rail to hold the magpul AFG, how many slots are required? I believe a 5 slot is the smallest.

Emod should be fine...not too heavy.  Looks like a nice build.

That's a stripped barrel.  You'd probably need a barrel assembly, and other parts, gas tube, delta ring, etc

Also I don't necessarily know if that folding front sight would work with the MOE handguards.

I was wanting a flip up front sight. Are there any complete rifles or uppers that come this way with standard hand guard instead of rails? I may just get the colt6920 magpul edition and add the AFG and swap the stock. Comes out more expensive but I won't have to do it immediately. I was looking forward to the build but with the reelection, I'm worried that by the time I finish, it'll be impossible to get all of the parts.

Recommendation:  get the AIM upper I linked to.  Once you have the funds for the flip up sights and a Troy Alpha rail, CHOP/dremel the standard FSB into a low-pro gas block, install an 11" or 13" Alpha on that badboy and throw a flip up front sight on top (KAC, or Troy) and you'll have a badass, and I mean badass setup.

This. Pretty much what I did

my main goal is to have the magpul MOE handguards instead of a rail. I basically want the colt le6920 magpul edition with a vltor emod stock and a flip up front sight regardless of brand. I just thought i'd save money and gain a lot of knowledge by building one instead of buying the colt and swapping out the parts.

Any upper assemblies that offer a flip up sight on a low pro gas block or gasblock w/ built in sight without a rail so i can have the MOE handguards?

my total build cost was just under 1100 (if i didnt miss any parts), the colt is about that price before i make any changes. I'd have to easily spend $300 to change out the parts I'd like to, for that I put them towards ammo, range time, a flashlight, and eventually an aimpoint pro (in that order)

You were missing parts.  The completed upper I linked to saves you around $100 and actually has all the parts you were missing.  

But it is your gun, so do as you see fit.  

ETA: or just get the Colt.

If i get the upper assembly in your link, the items i remove from my list would be: MOE handguard, vltor flash hider, yankee gas block front site, spikes upper, spikes bcg, and spikes barrel?
would the other items complete my lower 100%?

Yes, and yes.  You'd be good to go.

ETA: lower consists of:

- stripped lower
- lower parts kit
- grip
- receiver extension, buffer, spring, stock, etc are all included in the vltor kit.

so you'd be good to go...  recommend checking some of the other tacked threads in the Build it yourself forum.  There are some nice youtube vids and other documents about assembling your own, and step by step walk throughs...
