Im about to order a Stealth upper from LaRue, but im not sure what barrel finish to get.  Ion Bond, or Stainless.  Whats the difference between the two?

Ion bond is black.  Bare stainless steel is shiny.

Bare steel is shiney but LaRue stealth upper barrels are bead blasted, if you request the stainless barrel.  The Ion Bond barrel is black.  Ion Bond coating is roughly 5-millionths of an inch thick and roughly 90 Rockwell in hardness (harder than hard-chrome). It won't chip, peel, corrode, and is heat-resistant to over 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.
