I am assembling another carbine-length AR and was installing the gas tube when I noticed something... When I line up the rollpin to fit the tube inside my M.I. gas block, the gas port hole doesn't line up 100%. If I line up the gas port hole, then obviously the rollpin holes are off a tad.

Is this a big issue? The gas port hole isn't covered THAT much, but I just want to insure trouble-free operation. Will enough gas pass through the tube?

I see this to be quite common.
What I do is to mount the gas block on an arbor that I have and drill through the gas block AND tube as an assembly.
Then install the pin.

Thanks, Randall. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury. If I install my gas tube as described (and as you have encountered), will I experience any problems?

Probably not a problem unless they are grossly mis-aligned.
Worst case is that you have the pin through only one side of the gas block and into the tube and it won't go back into the other side of the gas block.

Be careful which style punch you are using or you will flare out the pin while trying to push it through.

Thanks again, Randall. Yeah, I can get the pin properly installed, but the gas port hole is just slightly blocked. I guess enough gas will get through to cycle the gun. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for your input!
