I'm thinking about my next build to start in the spring. This will be sort of a hobby build, no real need to have it yesterday. I've been thinking about going for a 20 inch match type build, mainly for varmit hunting and plinking. My question begins with what upper to start with, I've been thinking real hard about going with a RRA NM flat top. This way I get a 1 in 8 barrel match barrel and a flat top to boot. Later I would change the front sight base out for something low profile, maybe a SPR type gas block. Also maybe put a Samson railed tube on it too. Do you think this would be a good base to start with? Or should I look at something else? I don't want to dump a TON of money into this as this would be just a hobby rifle, not a SHTF or duty type. I don't need a Pac-Nor or Krieger barrel for this build. Is there a better option? TIA
