Hi,
I am relatively new to this forum but from what I have seen there are some very knowledgeable folks that post here. I am hoping someone can give me some help on a problem I'm having with a new upper I just put together tonight. This is about my 8th AR build and is the very first time I have ever encountered this problem.
When I put the bolt assembly into the charging handle and upper and slide it into the chamber to check the lock-up, the bolt lugs are very snug going in and mating up with the chamber lugs. Then when I push it in as far as it will go by mild hand pressure, the bolt doesn't rotate and lock. If I tap it with a small rubber mallet it will lock, but then I have to pry the bolt & carrier back out. I tried three different bolt assemblies & charging handles and all with the same result. Think I may have a bad barrel or maybe a "snag" on one of the chamber lugs? I can't really see a problem, even when comparing it with another of my AR's.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thomas
