I think the KT ordnance lowers have been properly reamed and have very light threads started. Not tapped but enough to get you started IIRC.

I think Shade Tree Armory has the buffer threads on their Stage 2 lowers. There is not a lot of information on their web site, but the pic for the Stage 2 shows threads
